In recognition of the specific challenges in compliance issues faced by drycleaners, Bill Dunagan, one of EMAP’s environmental consultants who specializes in air quality issues, has been focusing on providing this community with the extra help it needs.
The PKDA held a special press conference to inform the Korean drycleaning community about a free and confidential service available to them.

This service is available to help with regulatory permitting questions, and is entirely confidential.
This is of particular value to this community who often faces language barriers as well as confusion with the various regulatory requirements of their business.
The Mercury-Free Thermostat Act (Act No. 97 and House Bill 44) was signed into law on October 9, 2008, setting goals for collection, recycling, and phasing out of mercury thermostats. This legislation affects mall businesses who use and/or sell mercury-based thermostats.
