With all the recent activity in the renewable energy arena, some clients are thinking about starting their own renewable energy generation businesses. Now, a new fund offers up-front funding (rather than a tax credit) to help support the creation of renewable energy facilities.
The US Department of Energy and the US Treasury will provide direct cash payments, up-front, to companies that develop and bring into service a renewable energy facility. As much as $3 billion will provide financial support for the development of approximately 5,000 renewable energy production facilities throughout the US including solar, wind, biomass, and other projects.
